Tor trying to fix Ddos problem

How to earn money by cpa marketing

The Tor Project has released a statement saying they have a small fix for the ddos problem. Their fix will limit the connection rate to the site. Your site will be slow during an attack but not offline.
The ddos in question causes the Onion service (running on a server that host the site) to crash. During an attack, 1000’s of connections hit the site, and the site hangs up. Each connection runs through the onion services leaving the attacker with a secure connection. With the high level of connections, the server cannot keep up. This keeps the site unreachable. The exploit uses the very process Tor uses to make legit connections.
I don’t understand why this can’t be limited without a fix from Tor. Would the Web-server be a point to check, and limit rates there?
